The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel

School project

The Fairmont waterfront hotel is The premium gold suite interior space is designed with modern, traditional and upscale elements to make every guest feel inspired with the design concept chosen for the space and for every guest to perceive a pleasant time during their staying. The premium gold  suite is perfect for anyone who's traveling for pleasure or business or social events. The Premium gold suites is designed with elements of black and white patterns also combining material such as velvet texture to help make the interior space look royal, rich and convey a smooth and calm environment for the enjoyment of anyone staying in the suite. This suite will feature an open area from the living room to the kitchen for socializing. For example a small gathering of friends, work meeting or just a large family who needs a larger space. The color scheme chosen for the hotel suite is composed of three colors, a forest green, off white and dark gray paint. The tones of color will work together perfectly to convey a warm and cozy space. The material selected for the hotel suite was carefully selected considering few factors such as durability, comfort, safety and flexibility all of them are  important factors to consider since the weather in Canada  does play an important role when choosing the material. The climate in Canada is very moderate, but it does rain a lot during winter time. So having a velvet sofa will make the space feel nice and warm on raining days. The architectural style of the Fairmont waterfront hotel is known as Postmodernism style, I believe it played an  important role when it comes to choosing furniture style for the hotel suite since  postmodernism styles  is known for its strong statements and pop of colors. After considering the aspect of the weather and the architectural style the material that would best work for the hotel suite ,starting with the flooring I have chosen to go for LVT (luxury Vinyl tile) because the maintenance is easier and wears better over time especially in heavy traffic areas. The LVT is also great because does not require waxes, strippers and sealers which results in lower water consumption less chemicals for cleaning. I also added carpet to the bedroom because carpet is perfect for colder climates like in Canada. One important reason I wanted to have carpet in the design is because carpet is the best insulators against sound which can be an important factor when staying in a hotel setting. Carpet is  much less expensive when it comes to  flooring options. When it came to the walls I went for wall covering instead of paint in some area of the hotel suite because Wall-covering is know to work best in high traffic areas and it's much easier to clean and removed. For the bathroom, I went for tiles because of the durability and easy to clean
